Small things; precious things

Recently landed: Small things; precious things, a new article on Marginalia (by Gracia) looks at our contribution to the Black-throated Finch Project

Adani is saying the birds can just fly somewhere else — well, I’m afraid to say there are very few places left for our threatened species to just fly somewhere else, so that’s just a joke.
— Sean Dooley, Birdlife Australia

We created twenty original postcard collages for our contribution to the 2019 Black-throated Finch Project

Nineteen: a compilation box of zines, 2017 – 2018

A limited edition compilation set of all our recent zines, one atop the other, from the largest to the smallest, to make a happy squeeze.

As with previous sets, each box set contains the first of each zine edition released within that time frame. Housed in giant matchboxes featuring our recent collaged landscape, Ripples in the Open, editions are in the process of being delivered to the collections of Melbourne University Library, National Library of Australia, and State Library Victoria.

From 2017

Winged
Dove, love, wash
Here, there
Duck in, duck out
Flippered and flightless

From 2018

Looped, into infinity

Our exhibition, Looped, loops into infinity. Hurrah!

Our stone cats and a netsuke mouse have been minding their Ps and Qs since August 2017, and we are delighted that our #GraciaLouiseLooped inhabitants, like those within A warmed pebble in my hand, are staying in the dome dais indefinitely.

Thank-you State Library Victoria.

“In a little yellow house with green door and shutters”

Recently landed: "In a little yellow house with green door and shutters", a new article on Marginalia (by Gracia), part 3, in Amsterdam, post French Connections

And so we walked and walked the curves of Amsterdam, before ending up at a market where we feasted on a potato and spinach gözleme made over a griddle with the second nature swiftness and assurance of hand like a bird on the wing

Some of these new titles you may have seen unfurling on instagram, and tomorrow, should you be in the neighbourhood, you can see them with your own eyes, leaf through them with your own fingers, nestle them in your own palm.

A framework of postcard collages

Recently landed: A framework of postcard collages, a new article on Marginalia (by Gracia) takes a look at preparations for A Whisker of Light at Maitland Regional Gallery, NSW, in 2018

Mapped out on the floor, seventy columns of postcard collages, in preparation for a forthcoming exhibition of our work at Maitland Regional Gallery in the new year

Exclusive to Milly Sleeping

Head to Milly Sleeping, Carlton, to find our newest zine, It was a familiar pattern.

A little mesmerising flipbook, based on a moving collage of the same name. Let the pages flutter with pace and watch an unexpected assembly surface from the sea (and retreat again) afront a passing ship.

Created for (and currently exclusive to) Milly Sleeping.

Printed in Melbourne; assembled and editioned by hand by Gracia Haby & Louise Jennison AKA Gracia & Louise.

PS. This work also relates to an exhibition called Looped, now showing in the Latrobe Reading Room at the State Library of Victoria.
