Curated Exhibitions by Frankenstein Press

We are excited to announce a series of four curated exhibitions per year, aligned with the equinoxes and solstices.

In an era where our connection with nature and its cycles has waned, our mission is to actively promote creativity, emphasising the value of craftsmanship, artistry, and the profound human connection fostered through the printed word.

We extend an invitation to join us on a journey that celebrates the beauty of of the analogue, upholds the preservation of tradition, and embraces the enduring power of human creativity in a world moving at lightening speed.

Our Summer 2024 exhibition focuses on the significant role of books in shaping culture and personal growth through storytelling. Books serve as timeless conduits for narratives, knowledge, and enlightenment, bridging past, present, and future.

Unlike digital media, books are tangible artefacts, held, shared, and cherished over time, preserving a wealth of information. They ignite imagination, nurture creativity, and facilitate idea-sharing, often transcending mere functionality to become cherished objects of beauty.

Book arts represent a diverse landscape of creativity, weaving together storytelling, visual artistry, and craftsmanship to create unique and captivating works. Beyond mere vessels of information, book arts celebrate the fusion of form and content, inviting audiences to engage with art and literature in innovative and interactive ways.

The B for Book exhibition has been curated by Sarah Bodman, who kindly lent us a portion of her artists’ books archive at the Centre for Print Research, UWE Bristol.

The 100+ bookworks on display have been created by national and international artists.
