Collage titles, in order of appearance,
At 10 in the morning, dusk appears to come early as twin volcanoes erupt (circle)
At 3 in the afternoon, we are pulled, all of us, to the one point (triangle)
At 5 in the afternoon, familiarity comes twinned with the peculiar (square)
And as the sun sets, tomorrow’s path is determined (cross)

Written by hand inside front cover, in pencil,
Close your eyes, catch a glimpse of all things.
“Sleep. The land beyond you is not round.”
Sleep. The world is supported on the backs of whales.

Written by hand inside back cover, in pencil,
In the piling up of hours that make days, “time is far greater than space.”

With lines and visuals borrowed from Joseph Brodsky, Arthur Rackham, and The Ballet Russes.

Sleeping during the day, was made especially for Playing Field (2010), as part of Craft Victoria’s annual Craft Cubed festival. This artists’ book has since been exhibited as part of the 2010 Libris Awards at Artspace Mackay (QLD), the Manly Library 2011 Inaugural Artists' Book Award (NSW), and the 2011 Freemantle Print Award (WA) exhibitions, as well as Charms of the Gloaming (2012), and By This Unwinking Night (2012).

Editions of this artists’ book reside in various collections, including the University of Melbourne Library, the State Library Victoria, and the State Library of NSW.
